INTRODUCING THE NEW JUNGHANS 1,
CALIBER J-325.
Two years ago, when Mr. Pfeifer joined EganaGoldpfeil Holding, I knew that something was going to happen to the Junghans brand that would be good.
What Mr. Pfeifer has done in a few short years is remarkable. Junghans already has a wonderful reputation for watchmaking and a history that makes it a household name in Germany and Europe but this will put the Black Forest on the horological map.
This new timepiece and future models, all produced in Germany's Black Forest will, I can promise you, rival ALL the other German watch manufactures in Glashutte.
I welcome this new Manufacturer and I am very interested in seeing more.
Also, I think this is the first rectangular mechanical watch, Junghans has ever produced. I could be wrong but I can only imagine what the future will bring.

This is a Junghans Press Release
No Future without a Past
When Heinz W. Pfeifer, Board member of EganaGoldpfeil Holding,
initiated a redevelopment of the Group's traditional brands two years ago,
insiders already suspected that the consequences would be far-reaching, and
so it came as no surprise to the trade when the new, yet familiar "Erhard
Junghans" was introduced to the public at the Basel Fair in 2007. The more
amazing aspect of the re-launch was that the two model lines, CREATOR
1861 and TEMPUS, made exclusive use of specially reserved movement
calibers. Another step in the same direction was the appointment of
Matthias Stotz to the position of Technical Director in charge of brand
development at Erhard Junghans. Mr. Stotz is a member of the
watchmaker's examination board of the Constance Chamber of Trade and
a master watchmaker in his own right.
And now the day has come: At the 2008 Basel Fair, the "ERHARD
JUNGHANS 1" will celebrate its debut, equipped with the Caliber J 325
manual winding mechanism, which was developed by the company and is
manufactured mostly in its own workshops. With this, "Erhard Junghans"
is approaching the exclusive circle of true watch manufactures, and once
again, exquisite mechanical watches will be produced in Germany's second
watchmaking center, the Black Forest.
Due to the individual handcrafted production, the initial series of the
"Erhard Junghans 1" is strictly limited to twelve watches worldwide,
which come in a rectangular 18-karat white gold case with curved
sides. Each of the watches carries its individual number, replacing the
corresponding digit on the dial.

The newly developed Caliber J 325 is characterized by the distinctive,
hand-engraved balance-wheel bridge, which also carries the special Erhard
Junghans fine adjustment with the delicately interlocking elements of
regulator lever und regulator tail, the eccentric tappet and the regulator
spring in the company's traditional shape. The precisely executed ratchet,
the screwed gold settings, the blued screws, plus the angled and polished
edges on wheel and caliber bridge with triple «Côtes de Genève» finish on
crown wheel and ratchet wheel are testimony to the new movement's claim
of measuring up to the finest manufactures.
And so it is clear that for "Erhard Junghans," the watch itself, built in the
Old Masters' tradition of true craftsmanship, is the focus of all ambition.
Time passes - Erhard Junghans is here to stay!
Thanks for watching
