EBEL
André-Gustave Citroën, founder of the Citroën Automobile Company did not allow the name “Citroen” to be placed on any of his automobiles. He used a “chevron” as the logo and the only symbol on the automobile.
He also said, to the effect that no name is necessary since the style of the automobile should be signature enough.
He was right. The style was enough.
In Europe Ebel is well known and most consumers over the age of 40 most likely have owned an Ebel. It was one of the most popular watches in Europe for many years.
I have quietly followed Ebels history for many years because I like what Ebel is all about.
Ebel has always stayed on the leading edge of technology and design while keeping their signature style.
I was worried at one time when Ebel was owned and run by a bunch of accountants who almost destroyed the brand.
Today, Ebel is owned by the Movado Group who know the importance of style & design and how a simple but elegant signature look can carry a brand into the future.
Since 1911 Ebel has been winning awards and creating masterpieces. Even with its impressive history Ebel is still undiscovered and is a GEM in the industry.
Another company not related to Ebel but also has an impressive history is Eterna and it too is a gem and should be put into the spotlight. Stay tuned for that information.
Thanks for watching
