Joseph M. Urich

 

An experienced Strategic Marketing and Operations Executive specializing in the media and communications sector, Joseph Urich is a recognized authority and innovative thinker in the fields of publishing, broadband communications and the Internet. His ability to analyze both domestic and international markets and to design and implement successful, creative marketing and sales campaigns has been firmly established by his successful endeavors. 

 

For the past ten years, Mr. Urich was the principal architect and managing editor of hr: Watches Magazine. This publication not only blazed a new trail in the world of publishing, but also in the world of watches through establishing a new forum for discussion, education and entertainment to American watch collectors. With his insight and business instincts, Mr. Urich was ahead of his time in 1997 when he created the concept of and then CO-founded one of the first American publications devoted exclusively to the subject of mechanical watches. Over the years, his audience has grown exponentially. As a writer, Mr. Urich is well known for his patient conversational editorial style based on camaraderie and a passion for watches. With this approach he forged a strong personal relationship with his readers building a loyal worldwide subscription base for the magazine.  

 

Before establishing the hr:Watches Magazine, Mr. Urich held various corporate positions with cable and satellite companies where he developed successful marketing campaigns and sales training programs in major U.S. markets including Boston, Albuquerque, New Orleans, Southern California, Detroit and San Francisco, for USTV, one of the leading wireless broadcasters in the United States. As VP of sales and Marketing for ONTV, he successfully introduced a wireless cable Pay-TV solution to the greater Miami/Ft.Lauderdale market.

 

His experience with pay television in the United States led Mr. Urich to numerous consulting opportunities in Latin America where he Co- founded Brasil Link, the first National Cable TV trade show in Brasil. 

 

For the past twenty years Mr. Urich has traveled extensively throughout the world including Western and Eastern Europe, Asia, and Latin America where he has developed and maintains an extensive international contact base.  






NOTE: Urich has visited with the major watch companies in Switzerland and Germany and has interviewed many of the Sr. Executives in the Industry. He has written hundreds of articles and editorials and is knowledgeable about the watch industry from many aspects.
